Previously, the area was inhabited by another water source known as ‘Bawri,’ which was turned into Gulab Sagar. 

Gulab Sagar Lake is located in the Jodhpur city center, near Sardar Market in the old city region. One of the top lakes in Jodhpur, Gulab Sagar measures 150x90m. The construction of Gulab Sagar took approximately eight years. 

The lake obtains its water from Bal Samand Lake via a canal. The lake is best visited in the morning when the sun rises and in the evening when the sun sets. Gulab Sagar Jheel is open from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
